PANORAMIC / CT IMAGE
What is PANORAMIC / CBCT IMAGING?
Panoramic Imaging captures a wide, 2D view of your entire mouth in a single shot. It’s commonly used to assess overall dental health, detect issues like cavities or bone loss, and plan treatments.
CBCT Imaging offers detailed 3D images of your teeth, jaws, and surrounding tissues. It’s especially useful for precise diagnostics and planning complex procedures, such as implants or root canals.
Both techniques enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning, with panoramic imaging giving a broad overview and CBCT providing detailed, three-dimensional insights.
Procedure Overview
Preparation
The patient is positioned in the PANO/CBCT scanner, which may require them to remove metal objects and stay still during the scan.
Positioning
The patient is guided to a specific position, often using a chin rest or head support to ensure precise alignment. The scanner is adjusted according to the area of interest.
Imaging
The PANO/CBCT machine rotates around the patient’s head, capturing multiple X-ray images from various angles. These images are then combined to create a detailed 2D/3D model of the teeth, jaws, and surrounding tissues.
Review
The 2D/3D images provide a detailed view of the oral structures, allowing for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. The dentist reviews these images to evaluate complex conditions and plan procedures.
