What is 3D DIGITAL SCANNER?

A 3D dental digital scanner is a device that uses optical technology to create precise, three-dimensional digital impressions of the teeth, gums, and oral cavity. Unlike traditional impression materials that can be messy and uncomfortable, digital scanners use a small handheld camera or wand to capture detailed images quickly and painlessly.

Benefits of 3D DIGITAL SCANNER

High Accuracy

Provides highly detailed and accurate digital impressions, which improve the fit and quality of dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, and aligners.
Increased Comfort

Eliminates the need for physical impression materials, making the process more comfortable and less gag-inducing for patients.
Faster Processing

Digital impressions are captured in real-time and can be processed immediately, reducing the time needed to produce restorations and allowing for faster turnaround.
Enhanced Visualization

Allows for clear, 3D visualizations of the patient's oral structures, aiding in diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient communication.
Reduced Errors

Minimizes the risk of errors associated with traditional impressions, such as distortions or inaccuracies, leading to more predictable outcomes.
Streamlined Workflow

Facilitates a more efficient workflow by directly integrating with computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) systems, which speeds up the creation of dental restorations.
Better Record Keeping

Provides a permanent digital record of the patient's oral structures, which can be easily accessed and used for future treatments or comparisons.

Procedure Overview

CROWN/VENEER

Taking Impressions (1ST APPOINTMENT)

Instead of using traditional messy molds, a 3D digital scanner quickly captures detailed images of your tooth and the surrounding area.
Designing the Crown

The digital images are used to design your crown with precise measurements. This ensures the crown will fit perfectly.
Creating the Crown

The design is sent to a milling machine or 3D printer to make the crown from a solid block of material. This step is fast and accurate.
Delivery (2ND APPOINTMENT)

The crown is then checked for fit and adjusted if needed before being placed on your tooth.

PARTIAL DENTURE

Taking Impressions (1ST APPOINTMENT)

The scanner creates a detailed 3D image of your entire mouth, including the spaces where teeth are missing.
Designing the Denture

Using the digital model, a precise design for your partial denture is created, including how it will fit and how the artificial teeth will look.
Making the Denture

The design is used to fabricate the denture, either through milling or 3D printing, which results in a well-fitting and natural-looking prosthetic.
Delivery (2ND APPOINTMENT)

The partial denture is tried in, and any necessary adjustments are made to ensure comfort and function.
